SUPPLIES

Items included in your kit

  • Character Teeth
  • Fitting Beads

Additional items needed

  • Hot Water ( 150˚ )
  • Bowl (safe for use with hot water and/or a microwave)
  • Popsicle stick, Fork or Spoon
  • Trimming tools

STEP 1

Prepare the Fitting Beads

  • Heat the Water: Pour hot water (150°F / 66°C) into your bowl. Caution: Use caution with hot water to avoid burns.
  • Soften the Beads: Place the white fitting beads into the hot water. They will become transparent and stick together when they are ready.
  • Remove and Shape: Using your tool (popsicle stick, spoon, or fork), carefully remove the softened mass from the hot water. Do not use your hands while the beads are hot.
  • Form the Material: Once cool enough to handle, but still transparent, shape the mass into a “worm” about 1-1.5 inches long and 1/4 inch thick.
  • Divide the Material: If fitting both upper and lower dentures, divide the material, using approximately 60% for the upper and 40% for the lower.

STEP 2

Insert the Fitting Material

  • Place the Material: Press the shaped fitting material into the back channel of the denture. Gently flatten the top edge of material.

STEP 3

Fit the Denture

  • Insert the Denture: Using both hands for stability, push the denture upward onto your upper teeth (or downward for lower teeth).
  • Hold Firmly: Hold the denture firmly in place for 1-2 minutes to allow the material to begin setting. Avoid moving the denture during this time.
  • Set Material: Gently remove piece and place in cold water till material it is white and has fully hardened.

STEP 4

Trimming Excess Material

  • Check for Undercuts: Inspect the inside. Look for any areas where the material might catch on your teeth (“undercuts”).
  • Trim Carefully: Use small scissors or nail clippers to trim away any excess fitting material that has squeezed out from behind the teeth.
  • Focus on Comfort: Remove any material that might interfere with speech or comfort.

STEP 5

Repeat for Lower Denture (If Applicable)

  • Follow steps 1-4 to fit the lower denture.
  • Upper dentures should be done first.
  • Wearing top teeth while fitting lowers will help to position them properly for maximum comfort.

ADDITIONAL INFO

Dealing with Stuck Dentures

  • If Stuck: If the denture feels stuck, do not force it.
  • Use Warm Water: Take a sip of warm water and hold it in your mouth. The warm water will soften the fitting material, allowing you to remove the denture easily.

Cleaning and Storage

  • Cleaning: Clean your theatrical teeth with original formula Listerine, then rinse with warm water. Do not use dyed mouthwashes, as they may stain the dentures. Toothpaste should never be used on the piece.
  • Storage: Store the dentures in the provided container in a cool, dry place.
